Our Platform Engineering role is diverse, challenging and dynamic. If you are looking to broaden your experience and raise your profile, this role is for you. Not only will you be working with all three major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP and Azure) but also other key Open Source technologies such as Kafka and Kubernetes. Working closely with development teams, you will be implementing best practices around continuous deployment and scalable and reusable infrastructure. As part of a team, you will have the opportunity to work with major software, services and client organisations - across multiple industries.

You already have a solid grounding in…

• At least one cloud provider, with accompanying experience, and possibly a certificate or two
• Configuration management with infrastructure as code, maybe using Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
• Infrastructure automation with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Infrastructure and application delivery with Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo, TeamCity, ArgoCD
• Programming in a language such as Go, Python, Java or Ruby

Although you may not have experience with them yet, but you have an appreciation of some or all of the following techniques and tools:

• Containers and container orchestrators: Kubernetes, Istio
• Secrets Management
• Database deployments and migrations
• Networking and security
• Linux userspace and a good knowledge of shell scripting
• Grafana and Prometheus
• Log aggregation tools, why they’re important and how they’re used

Other desirable skills…

• History of client facing or consultancy roles
• Ability to communicate complex ideas to peers and clients
